Zenless Zone Zero · Version 3.3

Does Zenless Zone Zero have Polish subtitles?
It does not. The publisher’s own store listing shows 13 supported languages, and Polish appears in none of the columns: not interface, not subtitles, not audio. Voice acting was recorded in exactly four languages: English, Chinese, Korean and Japanese. The remaining nine are subtitle and UI only.
We also found no Polish fan translation project anywhere: not on grajpopolsku.pl, GitHub, Crowdin, ModDB or Nexus. That is “none found” rather than proof none ever existed, but if you are hunting for a ready-made Polish version of ZZZ you will probably come back empty-handed.
- Interface: no Polish.
- Subtitles: no Polish.
- Voice-over: English, Chinese, Korean, Japanese.
- Community translation: none found.
What ZZZ actually is, and why the text piles up
Zenless Zone Zero is an urban-fantasy action RPG. A disaster called the Hollows tore anomalous dimensions into the world, monsters called Ethereals come out of them, and you play a Proxy known as Phaethon (Belle or Wise) who guides other people through those tears. A squad is three Agents plus one Bangboo. Home base is New Eridu, jobs arrive through the Inter-Knot, weapons are W-Engines, and the gacha is Signal Search paid for with Polychrome.
The game launched on 4 July 2024 on Windows, iOS, Android and PS5, with a Steam release on 17 June 2026. If you land on a guide that describes ZZZ as a game about navigating a grid of televisions, it is simply out of date: TV Mode was removed from the main story in Version 1.4 on 18 December 2024 and retro-fitted out of the earlier chapters afterwards.
- Main story scenes are voiced in English, Chinese, Japanese and Korean.
- The other nine languages are subtitles and interface only.
- Invented proper nouns start landing in the first hour of play.
- Generic machine translation tends to shred those names into unrelated words.
How to turn on translated subtitles in ZZZ
Kaption is a separate Windows app that runs alongside the game. It finds the spot where ZZZ prints its dialogue by itself, reads the text there and draws the translation in its own overlay above the game. Nothing changes inside ZZZ: your interface language and voice-over stay exactly as you set them.
The translation is not produced live from whatever the reader happened to catch. Screen text is matched against pre-translated lines from the game, so the overlay shows a complete sentence instead of a half-line the typewriter animation cut off mid-word.
- Start ZZZ before the setup. In the Game step Kaption recognises it by itself, and later you can switch games on the Game and subtitles page.
- Kaption sets the dialogue area by itself. The frame should cover the speaker's name and the whole line.
- Move the overlay somewhere it does not cover the HUD or the dialogue box.
- Ctrl+Shift+S starts and stops translation without leaving the game.
The newest version: 3.3
Kaption follows every ZZZ version. When a new one comes out, the Polish pack for it follows, and the app downloads it by itself, so you never install anything by hand.
The current version is 3.3. What each version added, with its new quests and characters, is on the ZZZ updates page.
It is not a patch, and it is not a mod
Worth stating plainly: nothing in your ZZZ install directory is rewritten. In the file-replacement sense of the word, Kaption is not a localisation at all, because the translated text never enters the game. It is produced outside it and rendered in a separate window on top.
HoYoverse has published no statement about screen-capture overlays, so we are not going to tell you there is zero risk. What we can do is describe the mechanism and stop there. The Kaption source code is public, so you can check the claim instead of taking our word for it.
- Does not replace or modify game files.
- Does not inject code into the game process.
- Does not read game memory.
- Does not automate gameplay.
- Reads pixels from a screen region you select, the same way a recorder does.
Three games, one app
ZZZ is the third game Kaption supports, after Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail. Same app, same account: you switch games on the Game and subtitles page, and each game has its own dialogue area, because every game parks its text somewhere different on screen.
If this is your first time setting Kaption up, start with the setup guide. If you are more interested in what the app touches on your machine and your account, the safety page covers that separately.
- Genshin Impact: quests, events, NPC dialogue and dialogue choices.
- Honkai: Star Rail: story, companion missions and events.
- Zenless Zone Zero: story, New Eridu conversations and Inter-Knot jobs.
- Each game has its own dialogue area.

Before your first ZZZ session with subtitles
Five minutes of setup saves an hour of wondering why the subtitles flicker.
- Run the game in borderless windowed mode. An overlay cannot draw over exclusive fullscreen.
- Start ZZZ before you reach the Game step of the Kaption setup window. The app recognises the game by itself.
- Check the dialogue area preview: the frame should cover the speaker name and the full text below it.
- Move the overlay outside that region, or the app will start reading its own subtitles.
- Test on a quiet conversation in New Eridu before you walk into a story scene.
- Remember Ctrl+Shift+S. It toggles translation without alt-tabbing.
- After every major update, click Show the frame on the Game and subtitles page and check that the dialogue area still matches the UI.

Questions
Is Zenless Zone Zero available in Polish?
No. Zenless Zone Zero has no official Polish language: it ships in 13 languages and Polish is not one of them. Kaption adds Polish subtitles above the dialogue live, without changing game files.
Which ZZZ version does Kaption support?
The current one, 3.3. When a new version comes out, the Polish pack for it follows and the app downloads it by itself.
How do I play Zenless Zone Zero with translated subtitles?
Not through an in-game option, if your language is missing from the 13 the game ships with. A subtitle overlay handles it instead: Kaption reads the text from the dialogue area on screen and prints the translation above the game window, leaving ZZZ’s own settings alone.
Is there a fan translation of Zenless Zone Zero?
We found none, on grajpopolsku.pl, GitHub, Crowdin, ModDB or Nexus. Kaption is not one either, because it replaces no game files and draws its own subtitle layer on top instead.
Can I get banned for using a subtitle overlay?
HoYoverse has published no statement about screen-capture overlays, so nobody can honestly hand you a guarantee. What we can describe is the mechanism: Kaption reads pixels from a screen region, modifies no files, injects no code, reads no game memory and automates no gameplay. The call is yours.
Does Kaption modify Zenless Zone Zero game files?
No. Nothing in the ZZZ install directory is replaced, added or repacked. The translated text never enters the game; it is rendered in a separate window above it. The source code is public if you want to verify that.
Does Kaption also work with Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail?
Yes, all three run through the same app and the same account. You switch games on the Game and subtitles page, and each game has its own dialogue area, because every game puts its text in a different place.
Will HoYoverse add more languages to Zenless Zone Zero?
Nothing has been announced. The 13-language list has not changed since launch, and recent versions added content rather than localisations. If that changes, the publisher’s store listing is where it will show up first.
How do I change the language in Zenless Zone Zero?
Text and voice-over are switched inside the game’s own settings. You get 13 interface languages and four audio tracks: English, Chinese, Japanese and Korean. Anything outside those lists is not available in-game.
Do subtitles work during voiced story scenes?
Yes. Main story scenes are voiced in English, Chinese, Japanese and Korean, and the text is on screen either way. That on-screen text is what Kaption reads, so you can keep Japanese voice-over and read the translation.
