Guide
How the kit works
Start with Stride of Goldenflare: it deals Electro DMG, fills Prowess and restores 20% Ascendancy. With full Prowess, hold Normal Attack for the backstep, then release or press again to follow with the spinning slash. You can also press Jump to spend full Prowess on an uppercut.
Build Prowess again by dealing damage with attacks and Warrior's Blade. Ascendancy also rises from Normal Attacks and the Skill. When Ascendancy is full, the Skill becomes an enhanced sequence: press Normal Attack or Skill to continue through the leap and plunge. The plunge consumes Ascendancy, counts as Heavy Attack DMG and gives one stack of Majesty.
Press and release Sunward Conquest for its regular attack, which restores 40% Ascendancy. At two Majesty stacks, hold Liberation instead to enter Sworn Allegiance for seven seconds without spending Resonance Energy. Press or hold Normal Attack for up to nine strikes, then press Normal Attack or Liberation for the finisher. Holding Liberation ends the sequence early; the finisher also triggers when the state ends.
Battlesong of the Unyielding gives the incoming Resonator 15% DMG Amplification for 14 seconds. If they cast their Outro while it lasts, Augusta gains one Majesty and one Crown of Wills. The Crown gives her 15% Electro DMG Bonus and is removed after the finisher. The teammate's bonus ends if they switch out.
Build and why
Use the recommended three-piece Crown of Valor. The supplied build does not describe its set bonus, so check the in-game set description before filling the remaining slots.
Thunderflare Dominion is the first weapon choice. It increases ATK and gives Heavy Attack DMG after an Intro Skill or Resonance Skill. Its DEF-ignore effect builds when Augusta gains a shield, which works with the shield she gains from dealing damage. Verdant Summit is next: its Heavy Attack DMG Bonus grows after an Intro Skill or Resonance Liberation.
Ages of Harvest is another option, though its bonuses focus on Resonance Skill DMG. The four-star Aureate Zenith gives ATK and Heavy Attack DMG Bonus after Liberation. For stats, consider Crit. Rate, Crit. DMG and ATK, plus Electro DMG Bonus or Heavy Attack DMG Bonus where available. Energy Regen is worth considering if you struggle to use the regular Liberation; the two-Majesty version costs no Resonance Energy.
Leveling priority
A suggested skill order is Sunward Conquest, Call Me By the Sun, Hunter's Path, Warrior's Blade, then Stride of Goldenflare. The first three cover the enhanced Liberation, the Ascendancy plunge and the attacks that spend Prowess. The Skill and Intro still help build resources even if you level them later.
For maximum ascension, gather 170,000 Shell Credit, 4 LF Tidal Residuum, 12 MF Tidal Residuum, 12 HF Tidal Residuum, 4 FF Tidal Residuum, 46 Blighted Crown of Puppet King and 60 Luminous Calendula.
For all skills, the listed total is 2,030,000 Shell Credit, 25 LF Tidal Residuum, 28 MF Tidal Residuum, 40 HF Tidal Residuum, 57 FF Tidal Residuum, 26 When Irises Bloom, 25 Waveworn Residue 210, 28 Waveworn Residue 226, 55 Waveworn Residue 235 and 67 Waveworn Residue 239.
Resonance Chain nodes worth it
Cleansed in Crimson War (sequence 2) is a good damage upgrade to consider. Each Crown of Wills stack gives 20% Crit. Rate, and each 1% Crit. Rate above 100% gives 2% Crit. DMG, up to 100% Crit. DMG from that conversion.
Stained in Scorched Earth (sequence 1) raises the Crown limit to two, adds 15% Crit. DMG per stack and grants a stack on Intro. It also prevents interruption during the enhanced Skill sequence. Engraved in Radiant Light (sequence 6) raises the Crown limit to four and adds two Electro hits, each worth 100% of ATK, to the spinning slash or uppercut.
Sequence 3 is worth considering for its damage multiplier increases. Sequence 4 adds team ATK after Intro, while Sequence 5 strengthens Augusta's own shield. You can pass on those later upgrades if their damage, team bonus or protection is not what you need.
Teams
Consider Iuno and Shorekeeper alongside Augusta, or try Yinlin and Shorekeeper. The supplied roster does not describe their abilities, so check their in-game kits before choosing who takes each support or damage role.
Augusta's Outro works with any Attribute, so her next teammate does not have to be Electro. Give the amplified field time to someone who can use it and cast their Outro before the 14-second effect ends. That return gives Augusta Majesty and Crown of Wills.
A healer or another source of useful buffs is worth considering for the remaining slot. Augusta also creates a field lasting 30 seconds with her enhanced Liberation. An Intro inside it grants a shield equal to 650 plus 5% of her Max HP for 10 seconds; it does not transfer to the next character.
Common mistakes
Do not hold Liberation expecting the enhanced sequence before you have two Majesty stacks. The Ascendancy plunge and a teammate's Outro under Augusta's bonus are ways to get them. Before combat, Augusta can also gain one Majesty and restore Crown of Wills after being out of combat for more than four seconds.
Do not switch the amplified teammate out before they can use their Outro. During Sworn Allegiance you cannot switch Resonators, and environmental or other interactions end the state without its finisher. Finish the attack sequence before interacting.
Do not assume every hit in the enhanced Skill sequence counts as Heavy Attack DMG: the plunge does, while the opening dodge counter is classified as Resonance Skill DMG. Check damage types when comparing bonuses.
