Guide
How the kit works
Start with Frostedge when possible: it gives 200 Dedication in Present Self. Use Frostblight, then press Normal Attack to go straight to the third hit. That enhanced hit restores 200 Dedication, enough to reach the 300-point cap after the Intro. Without the Intro, use another third hit if you need more.
At 300 Dedication, hold Normal Attack to fire three arrows. The last consumes the resource and makes Foreclaiming: Inward Vision (Ult) available. Cast it to enter Foreclaimed Self, gain three Frostharden Iai and start with 50 Frostheart. This cast costs no Resonance Energy.
In Foreclaimed Self, use attacks or Frostblight: Jade Cleave (Skill) on the ground to build Frostheart. The airborne version is Frostblight: Petalfall (Skill); the two share a cooldown. With at least 100 Frostheart, dodge after an eligible attack or hold Resonance Skill after either version to enter Iai Stance.
Press Normal Attack in the stance to spend 100 Frostheart on Basic Attack - Iai (Forte). Each Frostharden Iai consumed gives one Whiteout Bitterfrost and applies three Glacio Chafe on hit. At three Whiteout Bitterfrost, hold Normal Attack to spend them on a heavy attack and gain one Snowforged Blade.
Finish with Foreclaiming: Blade Liberation (Ult). At three Snowforged Blade, a press and release consumes all three; otherwise, hold the button to charge and consume available points. Each point spent raises the damage multiplier. The attack ends Foreclaimed Self. Inward Vision and Iai also consume 10 Glacio Bite stacks on a qualifying hit to trigger Frostbind.
Build and why
Use five pieces of Wishes of Quiet Snowfall. Its listed two-piece effect gives 10% Glacio DMG, which suits Hiyuki’s attacks. The five-piece effect is not specified here, so do not assume an extra bonus from it.
Frostburn is the first weapon choice. It gives 12% ATK, and applying Glacio Chafe activates 28% Glacio DMG Amplification and lets Resonance Liberation DMG ignore 10% of the target’s DEF. While Hiyuki is active, it also amplifies nearby targets’ Glacio Chafe DMG by 20% for 6 seconds.
Emerald of Genesis is next: it gives Energy Regen and ATK after casting Resonance Skill. Red Spring follows, with 12% ATK and bonuses to Basic Attack DMG. Keep in mind that Hiyuki’s Foreclaimed Self Normal Attacks count as Resonance Liberation DMG. Feather Edge is another option, giving ATK and Resonance Liberation DMG Bonus after a Liberation cast.
For stats, ATK, Crit. Rate, Crit. DMG and Glacio DMG are worth considering for her damage. Energy Regen is useful to look at too, though Inward Vision itself does not consume Resonance Energy.
Leveling priority
A suggested leveling order is Foreclaiming (Ult), Everfrost Dominion, Flaming Sakura Blade Art, Frostblight, then Frostedge. The Liberation contains the entry and finishing attacks, while the Forte covers Iai and the resource loop. This is a practical order, not a confirmed comparison of level-by-level damage gains.
For maximum ascension, gather 170,000 Shell Credit, 4 LF Exoswarm Core, 12 MF Exoswarm Core, 12 HF Exoswarm Core, 4 FF Exoswarm Core, 46 Our Choice and 60 Redbell.
For all skills, the separate total is 2,030,000 Shell Credit, 25 LF Exoswarm Core, 28 MF Exoswarm Core, 40 HF Exoswarm Core, 57 FF Exoswarm Core, 26 We Who Question, 25 Broken Wing Polarizer, 28 Monowing Polarizer, 55 Polywing Polarizer and 67 Layered Wing Polarizer.
Resonance Chain nodes worth it
For a deep Resonance Chain investment, consider node 6 first among the later upgrades. It adds 500% Crit. DMG to both Liberation forms and expands the extra Glacio Bite damage at two Snow Rust stacks to triggers from other team members while Hiyuki is active.
Node 3 is another option: it adds a Snow Rust stack after a teammate joins or Hiyuki revives, and increases the multipliers of both named heavy attacks. At two Snow Rust stacks it also increases the multiplier of her extra Glacio Bite damage.
Node 2 is worth considering for its Iai multiplier and out-of-combat resource restoration. Its resets and restoration happen after four seconds out of combat, so do not plan on getting them during a rotation. Nodes 4 and 5 can be skipped if you are focused on the suggested damage upgrades: node 4 adds team damage and healing, while node 5 raises the Skill multipliers.
Teams
Fine Snow gains one Snow Rust stack when a team member applies Glacio Chafe or Havoc Bane, with each Resonator able to provide one stack this way. At one stack, Hiyuki gains 40% Crit. DMG and amplifies nearby Glacio Bite DMG by 30% while active. At two, her Glacio Chafe applications also deal an instance of Glacio Bite DMG. A third stack adds another 30% amplification to nearby targets while she is active.
Lucilla, Lynae, Suisui and Chisa are teammate options named by guides. Check their kits before relying on any of them for a particular status or support effect; those effects are not specified here. You can also consider a sustain slot if the team needs healing.
Snowlight Blessing amplifies other nearby team members’ Glacio DMG by 20% for 20 seconds against targets affected by Glacio Chafe. A second Glacio damage dealer can make use of that window.
Common mistakes
Do not switch Hiyuki out between her Present Self Skill and the enhanced third hit if you need the extra Dedication. Switching removes that enhancement. It also ends Iai Stance, so finish the attack before changing characters.
Watch Frostheart before trying to enter Iai Stance. You need at least 100, and every Iai strike spends 100. Likewise, three Whiteout Bitterfrost are needed for the special heavy attack; save enough stamina to use it.
Do not treat every attack with a Basic Attack animation as Basic Attack DMG when comparing weapons. Also, the Outro buff applies to other Resonators against targets affected by Glacio Chafe, not to Hiyuki’s own damage.
