Guide
How the kit works
Start with Freezing Thorns when you switch Sanhua in. It deals Glacio DMG, creates an Ice Thorn and gives her one stack of Clarity. Condensation (passive) increases her Resonance Skill damage by 20% for 8 seconds after the Intro.
Use Eternal Frost to deal damage, create an Ice Prism and gain another Clarity stack. Glacial Gaze creates a Glacier and gives two stacks. Clarity caps at two; each stack widens the Frostbite area on the Forte Gauge.
With Clarity of Mind, hold Basic Attack and watch the cursor move across the gauge. Release it inside the Frostbite area to perform Heavy Attack: Detonate. It detonates every Ice Thorn, Ice Prism and Glacier within range. The Detonate hit counts as Heavy Attack DMG, while the resulting Ice Burst counts as Resonance Skill DMG.
Frigid Light can add another Clarity stack on its fifth hit. That hit also activates Avalanche, increasing Ice Burst damage by 20% for 8 seconds. Once Sanhua is ready to switch, Silversnow gives the incoming character its Basic Attack bonus.
Build and why
The game recommends five pieces of Moonlit Clouds. Its listed two-piece effect gives 10% Energy Regen, which helps Sanhua get energy for her Liberation. The data does not specify the five-piece effect, so check it in game before deciding how much you value it.
Emerald of Genesis is the first weapon choice: it gives 12.8% Energy Regen and grants 6% ATK per stack when Sanhua casts her Resonance Skill, up to two stacks for 10 seconds. Overture is next in the guide ranking. Its Skill effect restores 8 Concerto Energy once every 20 seconds, fitting a build focused on switching to the next character.
Commando of Conviction is another option and gives 15% ATK for 15 seconds after an Intro Skill. Blazing Brilliance is named by another guide: its stacks give Resonance Skill DMG Bonus, the damage type used by Ice Burst. Endless Collapse is also in the game's recommendations and restores 6 Resonance Energy when Sanhua uses her Skill.
Energy Regen is worth considering if you want Glacial Gaze available more often. ATK, Crit. Rate and Crit. DMG are reasonable damage-focused choices, but the supplied build does not give target stat values.
Leveling priority
A suggested leveling order is Clarity of Mind, Eternal Frost, Glacial Gaze, Frigid Light, then Freezing Thorns. Start with the Forte because detonating ice is central to Sanhua's field time, then consider the Skill that creates an Ice Prism. The supplied data does not give level-by-level scaling, so this is a priority suggestion rather than a comparison of exact gains.
For maximum ascension, you need 170,000 Shell Credit, 4 LF Whisperin Core, 12 MF Whisperin Core, 12 HF Whisperin Core, 4 FF Whisperin Core, 46 Sound-Keeping Tacet Core and 60 Wintry Bell.
For all skills at maximum, prepare 2,030,000 Shell Credit, 25 LF Whisperin Core, 28 MF Whisperin Core, 40 HF Whisperin Core, 57 FF Whisperin Core and 26 Unending Destruction. You also need 25 Inert Metallic Drip, 28 Reactive Metallic Drip, 55 Polarized Metallic Drip and 67 Heterized Metallic Drip.
Resonance Chain nodes worth it
Daybreak Radiance (sequence 6) is worth considering for team support. Detonating an Ice Prism or Glacier gives every team member 10% ATK for 20 seconds, stacking up to twice. It adds a team-wide benefit to the detonation you already want to perform.
Unraveling Fate (sequence 5) is a strong damage-focused option: it adds 100% Crit. DMG to Ice Burst, and ice creations explode even if they are not detonated. You can still aim for a successful Detonate rather than relying on those explosions.
Blade Mastery (sequence 4) restores 10 Resonance Energy when you use Glacial Gaze. It also increases the damage of the next Heavy Attack: Detonate by 120% if used within 5 seconds. Follow the Liberation with your timed Heavy Attack to use that bonus.
Solitude's Embrace (sequence 1) gives Sanhua 15% Crit. Rate for 10 seconds after Basic Attack 5. Snowy Clarity (sequence 2) reduces Detonate's STA cost and improves interruption resistance after her Skill. Anomalous Vision (sequence 3) increases her damage against targets below 70% HP. These are useful, but you can leave them as lower priorities if team support or Ice Burst damage is your goal.
Teams
Put Sanhua beside an on-field damage dealer who uses Basic Attack DMG. Silversnow (outro) amplifies that damage by 38%, so switch directly to the character who can use it and keep them on the field while the bonus lasts.
Mornye and Rover: Havoc are among the teammates named in the guides. Check how you use their attacks before planning around Sanhua's bonus; the supplied roster does not describe their kits. Verina and Shorekeeper are also named as possible teammates. A third slot can cover healing or protection if your team needs it, but the supplied data does not describe those characters' abilities.
Sanhua deals Glacio DMG, but her Outro does not require the incoming character to have a particular element. Choose the team around its damage and survival needs rather than an element requirement that is not in her kit.
Common mistakes
Do not release the held Basic Attack before the cursor reaches Frostbite. A successful Heavy Attack: Detonate is what detonates the ice within range, and it removes all Clarity stacks. Create the ice you want to use first, then check the gauge and your distance from the creations.
Do not assume every hit in the detonation has the same damage type. Heavy Attack: Detonate counts as Heavy Attack DMG, but Ice Burst counts as Resonance Skill DMG. Keep that distinction in mind when comparing weapon effects.
