Guide
How the kit works
Start with Go, Go Turbo Twirly! to summon Turbo Twirly, gain 60 Nightsoul points and enter Nightsoul's Blessing. The drill slams the ground at intervals for AoE Geo damage based on DEF. Switch characters and it can keep attacking independently.
Holding the skill summons the drill with Kachina already riding it. While riding, use Normal Attacks to slam the ground, or use the drill to move and climb. The skill button becomes a mount or dismount command. Turbo Twirly is a Geo Construct, and Kachina can have only one of her own on the field.
Use Time to Get Serious! when available for AoE Geo damage and a Turbo Drill Field. The field expands Turbo Twirly's attack area and increases its Movement SPD while Kachina rides it. If her drill is already present, the Burst brings it to her side.
Nightsoul points are consumed by the drill's actions; when they run out, Nightsoul's Blessing ends and the drill disappears. After nearby party members trigger a Nightsoul Burst, Kachina gains 20% Geo DMG Bonus for 12 seconds. In Natlan, Phlogiston can maintain her state after her points run out.
Build and why
For team support, use four pieces of Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City. After Kachina triggers a reaction related to Geo, the set gives nearby party members 12% Elemental DMG Bonus for the elements involved for 15 seconds. If she triggers it in Nightsoul's Blessing, they gain another 28% for 20 seconds. She can activate the effect off-field, but bonuses from copies of the same set do not stack.
Archaic Petra is another support choice: its four-piece effect gives a 35% DMG Bonus for the relevant element for 10 seconds after obtaining a Crystallize shard or triggering Lunar-Crystallize. Only one element can benefit at a time. For Kachina's own damage, consider Husk of Opulent Dreams for DEF and Geo DMG Bonus, or Golden Troupe for Elemental Skill DMG.
Use DEF Percentage on the sands, Geo DMG Bonus or DEF Percentage on the goblet, and CRIT Rate, CRIT DMG or DEF Percentage on the circlet. Energy Recharge is an alternative on the sands if Burst availability is a problem. For substats, look for DEF Percentage, CRIT Rate, CRIT DMG, Energy Recharge and DEF.
Favonius Lance is the first weapon choice for its particle generation on CRIT hits; give Kachina enough CRIT Rate to use it. Footprint of the Rainbow instead increases DEF by 16% for 15 seconds after her Skill, helping the drill's damage. Engulfing Lightning is an Energy Recharge option: it grants 30% Energy Recharge for 12 seconds after her Burst.
Leveling priority
A suggested talent order is Go, Go Turbo Twirly! first, then Time to Get Serious!, with Cragbiter (NA) last. The Skill powers the drill's repeated attacks, while the Burst deals its own DEF-based damage. Normal Attacks matter less if Kachina mostly leaves the drill on the field and switches out.
For ascension, gather Mora, Quenepa Berry, Overripe Flamegranate and the Prithiva Topaz materials: Sliver, Fragment, Chunk and Gemstone. You also need Sentry's Wooden Whistle, Warrior's Metal Whistle and Saurian-Crowned Warrior's Golden Whistle.
Talents use the same three whistle materials, along with Mora, Teachings of Conflict, Guide to Conflict, Philosophies of Conflict and Fading Candle. Crown of Insight is needed for the final talent level.
Constellations worth it
For a suggested constellation priority, look first at Never Leave Home Without... Turbo Twirly. Using the Burst restores 20 Nightsoul points; if Kachina's drill is absent, it also puts her in Nightsoul's Blessing and summons one. That gives you another way to bring Turbo Twirly onto the field.
Improved Stabilizer adds three levels to the Skill, making it a useful damage upgrade. Shards Are Gems Too is worth considering for convenience and Energy: mounting or dismounting absorbs nearby Crystallize shards, and picking up a shard or triggering Lunar-Crystallize restores 3 Energy to Kachina, once every 5 seconds.
More Foes, More Caution gives the active character in the Burst field 8% to 20% DEF, depending on the number of opponents inside. You can skip it if that buff is not useful to your active character. This Time, I've Gotta Win adds Geo damage when a shield is replaced or destroyed, but you can also leave it out if you do not want to build around shields.
Teams
Kachina fits beside a teammate who spends time on the field while Turbo Twirly attacks independently. Add Hydro or Pyro teammates when you want her to trigger a Geo reaction for Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City. The set's bonus applies to the elements involved, so aim for a reaction that helps the damage dealer you want to support.
Kachina also benefits when nearby teammates trigger a Nightsoul Burst, gaining Geo DMG Bonus from her passive. Her drill is a Geo Construct, which can matter when planning around effects that refer to constructs.
Common mistakes
Do not keep Kachina riding Turbo Twirly for the entire fight if your other damage dealer needs field time. Leave the drill attacking and switch out. Watch the Nightsoul points: once the state ends, the drill disappears.
Do not expect Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City to buff every element automatically. Kachina has to trigger a relevant reaction, and the bonus covers the elements involved. Avoid putting a second copy of the set on the team for a stacking bonus.
Do not ignore DEF when building for drill damage, or CRIT Rate when using Favonius Lance. In Natlan, remember that Kachina consumes 90% less Stamina when climbing while riding Turbo Twirly, so the drill is useful outside combat too.
