Guide
How the kit works
Start by placing Jade Screen, which deals AoE Geo DMG. Pass through it for 12% Geo DMG Bonus for 10 seconds. The screen is a Geo Construct: it blocks projectiles and certain attacks, but cannot be climbed. Only one can exist at a time, and its endurance scales with Ningguang's Max HP.
Use Normal Attacks from Sparkling Scatter (NA) to gain a Star Jade on hit. Follow with a Charged Attack to fire your stored Star Jades alongside the larger gem. With at least one Star Jade, the Charged Attack also costs no Stamina.
Cast Starshatter near the screen so it fires extra gem projectiles alongside the homing gems from the Burst. Keep an eye on the screen before casting: if it is gone or too far away, you lose those extra projectiles.
Build and why
Lost Prayer to the Sacred Winds is the most consistently first-ranked weapon across the listed guides. It grants 8% Elemental DMG Bonus every 4 seconds in combat, up to four stacks, and the effect lasts until Ningguang falls or leaves combat. Kagura's Verity is another strong option: using the Skill builds stacks of Skill DMG, with an All Elemental DMG Bonus at three stacks.
Cashflow Supervision gives ATK and can boost Normal and Charged Attack DMG when current HP changes. For a 4-star option, consider Solar Pearl: Normal Attack hits boost Skill and Burst DMG, while Skill or Burst hits boost Normal Attack DMG. Dodoco Tales instead links Normal Attack hits to stronger Charged Attacks.
Use four pieces of Nighttime Whispers in the Echoing Woods for ATK and a Geo DMG Bonus after the Skill. A Crystallize shield increases that set's Geo bonus further. Two pieces each of Archaic Petra and Gladiator's Finale are a simpler alternative, giving Geo DMG Bonus and ATK. Marechaussee Hunter is worth considering if current HP changes: its two-piece effect boosts Normal and Charged Attacks, and its four-piece effect grants CRIT Rate when HP changes.
Choose ATK Percentage on the sands, Geo DMG Bonus on the goblet, and CRIT Rate or CRIT DMG on the circlet. Look for CRIT Rate, CRIT DMG and ATK Percentage in substats, followed by Energy Recharge. These stats support her damage while helping her use her Burst.
Leveling priority
A sensible leveling order is Sparkling Scatter (NA), then Starshatter, then Jade Screen. Normal and Charged Attacks are a regular part of her field time, while the Burst fires homing gems and gains extra projectiles from the screen. The Skill also deals Geo damage, so do not leave it behind indefinitely.
For maximum ascension, gather 420,000 Mora, 168 Glaze Lily, 46 Basalt Pillar, 1 Prithiva Topaz Sliver, 9 Prithiva Topaz Fragment, 9 Prithiva Topaz Chunk and 6 Prithiva Topaz Gemstone. You also need 18 Recruit's Insignia, 30 Sergeant's Insignia and 36 Lieutenant's Insignia.
Maxing all three talents takes 4,957,500 Mora, 9 Teachings of Prosperity, 63 Guide to Prosperity, 114 Philosophies of Prosperity, 3 Crown of Insight and 18 Spirit Locket of Boreas. It also takes 18 Recruit's Insignia, 66 Sergeant's Insignia and 93 Lieutenant's Insignia.
Constellations worth it
Shock Effect is the standout upgrade in the listed evidence. When Jade Screen shatters, its cooldown resets, up to once every 6 seconds. That gives you another chance to place the screen and deal its damage.
Grandeur Be the Seven Stars is worth considering: using Starshatter grants seven Star Jades for a following Charged Attack. Piercing Fragments is also useful against groups because Normal Attack hits deal AoE damage.
The other upgrades are optional. Majesty Be the Array of Stars and Invincible Be the Jade Screen add levels to the Burst and Skill respectively. Exquisite be the Jade, Outshining All Beneath gives nearby characters 10% Elemental RES through the screen, but you can play the attack and screen loop without it.
Teams
Ningguang gives the team Geo damage, the screen's projectile protection and a temporary Geo DMG Bonus. Let a Geo teammate pass through the screen when they can use that bonus.
Common mistakes
Do not fire every Charged Attack before building a Star Jade. A Normal Attack hit gives you a jade to add damage, and having one removes the Charged Attack's Stamina cost.
Do not cast Starshatter without checking for a nearby Jade Screen. Its extra projectiles depend on the screen being nearby. Also pass through the screen for its Geo DMG Bonus rather than leaving that benefit unused.
Do not treat the screen as a universal shield: it blocks projectiles and certain attacks, not everything. If you use Nighttime Whispers in the Echoing Woods, remember that its stronger bonus needs a Crystallize shield or nearby Moondrifts formed by Lunar-Crystallize.
Avoid choosing four pieces of Gladiator's Finale for its Normal Attack bonus: that effect requires a Sword, Claymore or Polearm, while Ningguang uses a Catalyst. Its two-piece ATK bonus is still an option.
