Guide
How the kit works
When it is available, you can use Hiyoku: Twin Blades before switching out. It deals AoE Geo damage based on ATK and DEF.
Use Fluttering Hasode to dash forward, strike nearby opponents and summon Tamoto. Hold the Skill if you need to aim the dash. Tamoto attacks at intervals and deals AoE Geo damage based on ATK and DEF. A nearby Geo Construct, whether already present or created while Tamoto is active, summons one extra doll with its own duration.
After the upward sweep, Tailor-Made gives you a choice. Press the Skill again to switch to the next character in the party order and grant Seize the Moment to the party for 8 seconds. Hits from the active character's Normal, Charged or Plunging Attacks can trigger Tamoto's coordinated attacks. They deal 100% of the upward sweep's damage as Elemental Skill damage, at most once every 2 seconds and twice per effect.
Press Normal Attack instead for Tailoring and 5 seconds of Geo infusion. Tailoring also triggers by default if Chiori stays on the field and you make neither follow-up input in time. When a nearby party member creates a Geo Construct, The Finishing Touch gives Chiori 20% Geo DMG Bonus for 20 seconds.
Build and why
For an off-field build, use four pieces of Golden Troupe. Its two-piece effect gives 20% Elemental Skill DMG, and the four-piece effect adds 25%, plus another 25% while Chiori is off-field. That last bonus clears 2 seconds after she takes the field.
Four pieces of Husk of Opulent Dreams are another strong choice. Its two-piece bonus gives 30% DEF, while its four-piece stacks give DEF and Geo DMG Bonus. You can also combine two pieces of Husk of Opulent Dreams with two of Archaic Petra for Geo DMG Bonus, or with two of Golden Troupe for Skill damage.
Use DEF Percentage on the sands, Geo DMG Bonus or DEF Percentage on the goblet, and CRIT Rate or CRIT DMG on the circlet. Look for CRIT Rate, CRIT DMG and DEF Percentage in substats, followed by Energy Recharge and ATK Percentage. DEF helps both the Skill and Burst; Geo and CRIT stats strengthen her Geo hits.
Uraku Misugiri is the first weapon choice: it increases Normal Attack and Skill damage, gives DEF, and doubles those damage bonuses for 15 seconds after a nearby active character deals Geo damage. Peak Patrol Song and Primordial Jade Cutter are also options. Peak Patrol Song needs Normal or Plunging hits to build its effects; Primordial Jade Cutter gives an ATK Bonus based on Max HP. For a 4-star choice, Cinnabar Spindle increases Skill damage based on DEF.
Leveling priority
A good leveling order is Fluttering Hasode, then Hiyoku: Twin Blades, then Weaving Blade (NA). The Skill covers Tamoto's damage and the coordinated attacks, so it is the natural first investment for an off-field build. Raise the Burst next; Normal Attacks matter more if you keep Chiori on the field.
For maximum character ascension, gather 420,000 Mora, 168 Dendrobium, 1 Prithiva Topaz Sliver, 9 Prithiva Topaz Fragment, 9 Prithiva Topaz Chunk, 6 Prithiva Topaz Gemstone, 18 Spectral Husk, 30 Spectral Heart, 36 Spectral Nucleus and 46 Artificed Spare Clockwork Component — Coppelia.
To maximize all three skills, you need 4,957,500 Mora, 3 Crown of Insight, 9 Teachings of Light, 63 Guide to Light, 114 Philosophies of Light, 18 Spectral Husk, 66 Spectral Heart, 93 Spectral Nucleus and 18 Lightless Silk String. These skill costs are separate from ascension.
Constellations worth it
Six Paths of Sage Silkcraft is the standout upgrade. It increases Tamoto's AoE by 50% and, with another Geo character in the party, summons the extra Tamoto after the dash without requiring a Geo Construct. It also triggers The Finishing Touch if that talent is unlocked. You still cannot have more than one extra Tamoto.
In Five Colors Dyed is worth considering for more damage after the Burst. It summons Kinu every 3 seconds for 10 seconds; each Kinu attacks once for 170% of Tamoto's damage and counts as Elemental Skill damage.
Sole Principle Pursuit is an option for an on-field build: a Tailor-Made follow-up reduces Chiori's Skill cooldown by 12 seconds, and her Normal Attack damage increases by 235% of her DEF. Four Brocade Embellishments and Two Silken Plumules raise Skill and Burst levels respectively; you can leave them for later if you are interested in upgrades that change her play.
Teams
At C0, consider a teammate who can create a nearby Geo Construct so Chiori can summon her second Tamoto. Check the party order before using the Skill follow-up: the quick switch goes to the next slot, so put the character you want to control there.
Common mistakes
Do not press Normal Attack after Fluttering Hasode when you want the quick switch. Press the Skill again, and make sure the next party slot is the one you want. If you miss both inputs while staying on-field, you get the Geo infusion instead.
Do not assume a second Tamoto appears without a nearby Geo Construct at C0. Also, do not build only ATK Percentage: Chiori's Skill and Burst both scale with DEF, which is why DEF Percentage is a main stat option.
With Golden Troupe, avoid keeping Chiori on-field longer than needed if you want its off-field Skill bonus. Once the active teammate is in, use their Normal, Charged or Plunging Attacks to trigger the coordinated hits before Seize the Moment expires.
