Guide
How the kit works
Start by applying an element that can react with Anemo. Use Ring-A-Ding-Ding! Hexhunter Chime to hit the opponent. If that hit triggers Swirl or Stellar Swirl, the Skill changes for the next 6 seconds. Tap it again to kick the hammer at opponents in front, dealing damage of the element involved in the earlier reaction.
A converted hammer hit gives nearby teammates Tolling Rally for 5 seconds. Their Normal, Charged and Plunging Attacks, Skills and Bursts gain 0.025% damage for each point of Prune's ATK above 2,000, up to 50%. The effect checks her ATK when the teammate receives it.
Use The Bell Tolls! The Hunt Is On! to damage nearby opponents and send the bell into Hunter-Seeker mode. It follows the active character and attacks at intervals, dealing AoE Anemo Burst damage. When a bell hit triggers Swirl or Stellar Swirl, Verdict and Punishment summons a hammer that deals 150% of Prune's ATK as damage in the converted element. That damage also counts as Burst damage.
Badaboom! Hexbuster Hammer (NA) gives Prune up to three Anemo Normal Attacks. Her Charged Attack costs Stamina, and her Plunging Attack deals AoE Anemo damage on landing. Use these when you want her to stay on the field; the bell can keep attacking after you switch.
Build and why
Four pieces of Viridescent Venerer are the first set to consider. They increase Swirl damage by 60% and Stellar Swirl damage by 20%. Swirl also reduces the opponent's RES to its infused element by 40% for 10 seconds; triggering Stellar Swirl also reduces Cryo RES by 40%. This rewards the reactions Prune already wants to trigger.
Four pieces of Celestial Gift are another option. Its two-piece bonus gives 20% Energy Recharge. After completing Witch's Homework, using a Skill gives nearby teammates a 20% Anemo DMG Bonus for 20 seconds. With Hexerei: Secret Rite, the bonus becomes 40% for both Anemo and the active character's element; identical element bonuses do not stack.
For a more ATK-focused alternative, four pieces of A Day Carved From Rising Winds give 18% ATK from the two-piece bonus and 25% ATK for 6 seconds after an eligible attack hits. Completing Witch's Homework also adds 20% CRIT Rate to that effect.
Use ATK Percentage on the goblet and circlet. Choose ATK Percentage or Energy Recharge on the sands, depending on whether you need more ATK for Tolling Rally or help using the Burst. In substats, look for ATK Percentage, then Energy Recharge, then ATK.
Leveling priority
A reasonable leveling order is The Bell Tolls! The Hunt Is On! first, Ring-A-Ding-Ding! Hexhunter Chime second, then Badaboom! Hexbuster Hammer (NA). The Burst attacks while Prune is off-field, while the Skill supplies the initial hit and converted follow-up. Raise Normal Attacks later if you rarely keep her on the field.
For maximum character ascension, you need 420,000 Mora, 168 Winter Icelea and 46 Radiant Antler. The Vayuda Turquoise materials are 1 Sliver, 9 Fragment, 9 Chunk and 6 Gemstone. You also need 18 Treasure Hoarder Insignia, 30 Silver Raven Insignia and 36 Golden Raven Insignia.
Maxing all three talents takes 4,957,500 Mora, 9 Teachings of Resistance, 63 Guide to Resistance, 114 Philosophies of Resistance and 3 Crown of Insight. It also takes 18 Treasure Hoarder Insignia, 66 Silver Raven Insignia, 93 Golden Raven Insignia and 18 Mask of the Virtuous Doctor.
Tinker-Tink, Clank, and Bang! gives Prune a 10% chance to get one regional Character Talent Material when crafting, excluding the base material. The extra material has the same rarity as the resulting material.
Constellations worth it
And That's the Story! Share It With Your Friends! is the biggest upgrade to look for. It extends Hunter-Seeker by 4 seconds. When a party member affected by Tolling Rally triggers an Elemental Reaction, Prune and the other current active character or characters affected by Tolling Rally gain 350 ATK for 5 seconds.
Useful for Cleaning Messy Baggage, Elemental Powers Are Indeed is another major upgrade. During Hunter-Seeker, Prune gains 10% ATK, and bell or converted hammer hits add 5% ATK, up to the stated 40% increase. That extra ATK fits Tolling Rally's scaling.
With a Vow to Rescue, the Journey Begins is worth considering for Energy: a converted hammer hit restores 2 Energy to Prune, once every 1.8 seconds. C3 and C5 only add levels to the Burst and Skill respectively, so you can treat them as lower priorities than the effects above.
Teams
A Hexerei teammate is worth considering. After Prune completes Witch's Homework: Of What Is Contested, a party with at least two Hexerei characters gains Hexerei: Secret Rite. When a Hexerei character affected by Tolling Rally triggers an Elemental Reaction, Prune gains 60% ATK for 5 seconds. If that reaction is Swirl or Stellar Swirl, the triggering character also gains 30% ATK for 5 seconds.
Common mistakes
Do not use the first Skill hit without a suitable element on the opponent and expect the converted follow-up. You need that hit to trigger Swirl or Stellar Swirl, then you have 6 seconds to tap the Skill again.
Do not judge Tolling Rally from Prune's ATK alone without checking when teammates receive it. Only ATK above 2,000 contributes, and the effect checks her ATK at that moment. Also leave enough Energy Recharge to use the Burst when you need it.
Do not assume the bell's hammer hits are Skill damage: Verdict and Punishment counts them as Burst damage. With Angelos' Heptades, remember that its shield effects ask the weapon user to create a shield, not merely to be protected by one.
