Guide
How the kit works
Start by putting an element on an opponent with a teammate, then use Skyward Sonnet for AoE Anemo damage. Pressing it creates a Wind Domain at the opponent's location and launches enemies. Holding it creates a larger domain around Venti and lifts him into the air. Enemies hit by either version fall slowly.
Use Wind's Grand Ode to create the Stormeye. It pulls opponents in and deals continuous Anemo damage. If it contacts Hydro, Pyro, Cryo or Electro, it also deals damage of that type. It can absorb an element only once per use, so consider which element you want it to contact.
After the Stormeye ends, Stormeye restores 15 Energy to Venti. If absorption occurred, it also restores 15 Energy to every party member of the absorbed element. Embrace of Winds makes the hold version of Skyward Sonnet create an upcurrent for 20 seconds.
Divine Marksmanship (NA) has up to six normal shots. A fully charged aimed shot deals Anemo damage, though it is not the focus of this build. Windrider reduces your party's gliding Stamina consumption by 20%; it does not stack with identical passives.
Build and why
Use four pieces of Viridescent Venerer. The set adds 15% Anemo DMG Bonus and increases Swirl damage by 60%. It also lowers resistance to the element infused in Swirl by 40% for 10 seconds. Trigger the reaction with the element your team wants to use.
A Day Carved From Rising Winds is an alternative for Venti's own damage: four pieces give ATK after an attack or skill hits, plus CRIT Rate if he has completed Witch's Homework. Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City is another team option: its four-piece effect gives a 12% Elemental DMG Bonus for the elements involved in a reaction. Venti's kit does not give him Nightsoul's Blessing for its larger bonus.
For main stats, consider Elemental Mastery on sands, goblet and circlet. Energy Recharge is an alternative on sands; Anemo DMG Bonus works on goblet, and CRIT Rate or CRIT DMG can go on circlet. For substats, look for Energy Recharge first, then Elemental Mastery, CRIT Rate, CRIT DMG and ATK Percentage.
The Daybreak Chronicles is the first weapon to consider. It boosts Normal Attack, Skill and Burst damage after time out of combat, with a bonus that changes during combat. Astral Vulture's Crimson Plumage gives ATK after Swirl or Stellar Swirl and can boost Burst damage with different elements in the party. Elegy for the End gives Elemental Mastery and gains Sigils when Skill or Burst hits.
The Stringless is another option that increases Skill and Burst damage. Favonius Warbow can generate Energy through CRIT hits, making CRIT Rate useful if you choose it. For a temporary mix, two pieces each of Wanderer's Troupe and Emblem of Severed Fate give Elemental Mastery and Energy Recharge.
Leveling priority
A good leveling order is Wind's Grand Ode, then Skyward Sonnet, and finally Divine Marksmanship (NA). The Burst is the centerpiece of this playstyle, while the Skill is another source of Anemo damage. Normal Attacks can wait if you mainly use Venti for his abilities.
For ascension, gather Cecilia, Hurricane Seed and the Vayuda Turquoise materials, along with Mora and Slime materials. Raising all talents also takes Teachings of Ballad, Guide to Ballad, Philosophies of Ballad, Tail of Boreas and Crown of Insight, as well as Mora and Slime materials.
The Slime materials are Slime Condensate, Slime Secretions and Slime Concentrate. Both ascension and talents use them, so keep some for each.
Constellations worth it
Breeze of Reminiscence is the standout constellation. Skyward Sonnet lowers Anemo RES and Physical RES by 12% for 10 seconds, with another 12% reduction while an affected opponent is airborne. The extra airborne reduction only lasts while that condition holds.
Storm of Defiance is worth considering for its 20% Anemo RES reduction on targets damaged by Wind's Grand Ode. If the Stormeye absorbed an element, it also lowers resistance to that element by 20%. Ode to Thousand Winds is another option, adding three levels to the Burst.
Splitting Gales adds arrows to aimed shots, so you can skip focusing on it for a Burst-centered build. Hurricane of Freedom and Concerto dal Cielo add personal damage, but are optional.
Teams
After completing Witch's Homework: Of the Waking of Wind, Venti becomes a Hexerei character. With at least two Hexerei characters in the party, Witch's Eve Rite: Temporal Wind's Eulogy activates Hexerei: Secret Rite. While Wind's Grand Ode is active, a nearby active character triggering Swirl or Stellar Swirl gains 50% damage for four seconds, and the Stormeye deals 135% of its original damage for that period.
Common mistakes
Do not build only for damage and forget Energy Recharge. Wind's Grand Ode is where Venti gathers enemies, so having it ready matters. Its Energy refund arrives after the Stormeye ends, not when you cast it.
Do not expect the Stormeye to absorb several elements in one use. Plan around the element it contacts, especially when you want to restore Energy to teammates of a particular element.
Do not treat the hold and press versions of Skyward Sonnet as identical. Hold centers the larger domain on Venti and lifts him; press places the domain at the opponent. Choose the version that fits where you want to be.
Do not give up Viridescent Venerer's team resistance reduction without a reason. A set focused on Venti's own damage changes what he contributes to the rest of the party.
