Guide
How the kit works
Use Hanega: Song of the Wind to deal AoE Anemo DMG and enter Windfavored. If the cast contacts Hydro, Pyro, Cryo or Electro, Jade-Claimed Flower grants up to two buffs for that instance of the state.
Hydro adds 20 to the Kuugoryoku Point cap, Pyro gives 30% ATK, and Cryo gives 20% CRIT Rate. Electro lets Normal and Charged Attack hits restore 0.8 Energy, up to once every 0.2 seconds.
During Windfavored, Yuuban Meigen (NA) becomes Kuugo: Fushoudan for Normal Attacks and Kuugo: Toufukai for Charged Attacks. Both gain damage and area, while the Charged Attack costs no Stamina. You cannot plunge in this state. Jumping higher and accelerating consume extra Kuugoryoku Points; using the Skill again ends the state.
With Gales of Reverie unlocked, airborne attacks can grant Descent. Your next mid-air acceleration in that state costs no Kuugoryoku Points and fires four Anemo arrows, each dealing 35% of ATK. Use Kyougen: Five Ceremonial Plays near the end of your flight: its multiple AoE hits deal Anemo DMG, but casting it during Windfavored ends the state.
Build and why
Use four pieces of Desert Pavilion Chronicle. After a Charged Attack hits, the set gives 10% Normal Attack SPD and 40% Normal, Charged and Plunging Attack DMG for 15 seconds. Start your airborne attacks with a Charged Attack to activate it.
Four pieces of Shimenawa's Reminiscence are the next option. Casting the Skill with at least 15 Energy consumes 15 Energy and gives 50% Normal, Charged and Plunging Attack DMG for 10 seconds. Four pieces of Marechaussee Hunter are another option if the team can change Wanderer's current HP: two pieces boost Normal and Charged Attack DMG, while the four-piece effect grants CRIT Rate when HP changes.
For a mixed set, try two pieces of Viridescent Venerer and two of Gladiator's Finale for Anemo DMG Bonus and ATK. Do not use four pieces of Gladiator's Finale for its Normal Attack effect: that effect requires a Sword, Claymore or Polearm.
Choose ATK Percentage on the sands, Anemo DMG Bonus on the goblet, and CRIT Rate or CRIT DMG on the circlet. Look for CRIT Rate, CRIT DMG and ATK Percentage in substats, with Energy Recharge also useful for the Burst. Account for the extra CRIT Rate from a Cryo contact when choosing your stats.
Tulaytullah's Remembrance is the first weapon choice. It increases Normal Attack SPD and builds Normal Attack DMG after the Skill, fitting the airborne attacks. Cashflow Supervision offers ATK and boosts Normal and Charged Attack DMG when current HP changes. Lost Prayer to the Sacred Winds is another option, gaining Elemental DMG Bonus over time in battle. The Widsith is a four-star alternative, though its field-entry buff is random.
Leveling priority
I suggest leveling Yuuban Meigen (NA) first because you use its attacks throughout Windfavored. Follow with Hanega: Song of the Wind, which enables those enhanced attacks, then Kyougen: Five Ceremonial Plays, your separate multi-hit Burst.
For maximum character ascension, gather 420,000 Mora, 168 Rukkhashava Mushrooms, 46 Perpetual Caliber, 1 Vayuda Turquoise Sliver, 9 Vayuda Turquoise Fragment, 9 Vayuda Turquoise Chunk and 6 Vayuda Turquoise Gemstone. You also need 18 Old Handguard, 30 Kageuchi Handguard and 36 Famed Handguard.
For all three skills, the total is 4,957,500 Mora, 3 Crown of Insight, 9 Teachings of Praxis, 63 Guide to Praxis, 114 Philosophies of Praxis, 18 Old Handguard, 66 Kageuchi Handguard, 93 Famed Handguard and 18 Daka's Bell.
Constellations worth it
Niban: Isle Amidst White Waves is the first major upgrade to look at. During Windfavored, it increases Burst damage by 4% for each point missing from the Kuugoryoku cap, up to 200%. Use the Burst late in the state to take advantage of it.
Shugen: The Curtains' Melancholic Sway is the other major upgrade. Airborne Normal Attack hits add another hit worth 40% of the original attack's damage. Below 40 Kuugoryoku Points, those hits can also restore points, up to five times per Windfavored state.
Shoban: Ostentatious Plumage gives airborne attacks 10% Attack SPD and strengthens the arrows from Gales of Reverie. C3 and C5 raise Burst and Skill levels respectively, while C4 adds a random untriggered elemental buff when its conditions are met. They are less prominent targets than C2 and C6, though every earlier constellation is required on the way to C6.
Common mistakes
Do not use the Burst immediately after entering Windfavored if you want to attack in the air. It ends the state. At C2, using it late also lets you benefit from more missing Kuugoryoku Points.
Do not hold sprint or jump without a reason. Both spend extra points, leaving less time in the air. When Descent is active, use its free acceleration for movement and its four arrows.
Do not forget the Charged Attack needed to activate Desert Pavilion Chronicle. With Shimenawa's Reminiscence, check that you have at least 15 Energy before casting the Skill. Also remember that a Plunging Attack is unavailable during Windfavored.
