Guide
How the kit works
Start with EX Special Attack: Heat Charge (Special). Hold the input with at least 100 Bottled Heat to spend 100 and fire the laser. When it hits, Taming Wind and Fire gives the squad Zeroed In for 12 seconds. The buff grants 280 ATK, with more available from initial Energy Regen, up to a total of 700 ATK.
The laser triggers a Quick Assist when firing begins. Its firepower rises after sustained firing, or immediately if it parries an attack. The low-power phase reduces damage taken by 40%; the high-power phase grants invulnerability. At maximum firing time, EX Special Attack: Fiery Eruption (Special) follows automatically.
Once another agent is attacking, Special Attack: Corrosive Flash triggers four Fire Aftershocks, restores 20 Bottled Heat and can trigger once every five seconds. If Orphie & Magus are off-field with at least 60 Energy when it is available, EX Special Attack: Crimson Vortex (Special) triggers instead and consumes 30 Energy. It also restores 20 Bottled Heat.
Back on the field, EX Special Attack: Watch Your Step (Special) restores 20 Bottled Heat and follows its laser with the fire blade from Basic Attack: High-Pressure Flamethrower. Chain Attack: Overheated Barrel and Ultimate: Dance With Fire each restore 20 as well. Activate the Ultimate’s Quick Assist to extend its laser firing time.
The fire blade and the listed laser attacks count as Aftershock damage. Zeroed In lasts four seconds longer whenever its holder triggers an Aftershock, with up to 20 seconds of extension.
Build and why
Use four pieces of Shadow Harmony. Its two-piece bonus increases Aftershock damage by 15%. The four-piece effect gives ATK and CRIT Rate stacks when an Aftershock or Dash Attack matches the wearer’s attribute, so Fire Aftershocks can build it. Each stack grants 4% of each stat, up to three stacks.
For the remaining two pieces, choose Moonlight Lullaby or Swing Jazz for 20% Energy Regen. Astral Voice is another option: its two-piece bonus gives 10% ATK, while its four-piece effect rewards the character entering through Quick Assist. That makes four pieces a team-oriented alternative rather than the same kind of personal Aftershock build.
On disc 4, use CRIT DMG or CRIT Rate. Disc 5 can have Fire DMG Bonus or Percent ATK, and disc 6 should have Energy Regen. Look for CRIT Rate, CRIT DMG and Percent ATK substats in that order. The passive already supplies 25% CRIT Rate, while initial Energy Regen can increase the squad’s ATK buff.
Bellicose Blaze is the first weapon choice: it gives CRIT Rate and lets attacks ignore DEF after Fire Aftershocks. Heartstring Nocturne is next, with CRIT DMG and Fire RES ignore for Chain Attack and Ultimate. Severed Innocence is another option for CRIT DMG, although its full-stack Electric DMG bonus does not match this Fire kit.
Leveling priority
Follow the game’s order: Core Skill first, then Special Attack, Chain Attack, Assist, Basic Attack and Dodge. The core establishes the Aftershock bonuses and squad ATK buff. Special Attack covers the automatic attacks and the Bottled Heat laser you use throughout a fight.
Chain Attack comes before Assist because it also covers the Ultimate. Basic Attack and Dodge come last in this order; the build spends much of its time attacking through Special skills and off-field triggers.
For maximum ascension, collect 800,000 Denny, 4 Basic Attack Certification Seal, 32 Advanced Attack Certification Seal and 30 Pioneer's Certification Seal.
For all skills, the listed total is 2,905,000 Denny, 25 Basic Burn Chip, 75 Advanced Burn Chip, 250 Specialized Burn Chip, 5 Hamster Cage Pass, 9 Scarlet Engine and 60 Higher Dimensional Data: Miasmic Elytron.
Mindscapes worth it
For a team-focused upgrade, consider Luxurious Cat House first. Several Special attacks ignore 15% Fire RES, and agents with Zeroed In deal 20% more damage. Both effects fit the way Orphie & Magus fight.
Magic Seed is a later upgrade to consider for personal damage. When the laser from EX Special Attack: Heat Charge (Special) or Ultimate: Dance With Fire hits, it deals additional Fire DMG equal to 250% of Orphie & Magus’s ATK, up to once every 0.5 seconds. The added damage counts as EX Special Attack and Aftershock damage. The fire blade also recovers 10 Bottled Heat and gains a follow-up option when there is enough Energy.
Pink Holster is another upgrade to consider. It raises the initial Zeroed In duration to 16 seconds and increases Heat Charge and Dance With Fire damage by 40%.
Weird Food List gives Decibels on Aftershocks and ATK after the Ultimate. "Tactics Manual" and Ferry Toll raise skill levels. If your goal is the squad buff, you can treat these benefits as optional.
Teams
Pair Orphie & Magus with at least one Stun or Support agent to activate Forged in Flames. Agents with Zeroed In then ignore 25% DEF with Aftershock damage. Teammates who trigger Aftershocks can also extend their own Zeroed In duration.
Common mistakes
Do not leave Bottled Heat unused for too long. It starts at 100 and caps at 125, while the laser needs only 100. Hit an enemy with it to apply Zeroed In, then let allied attacks help generate more Heat.
Do not assume every phase of the laser grants invulnerability. The low-power phase reduces damage taken and raises Anti-Interrupt; invulnerability arrives in the high-power phase. Pay attention to incoming attacks until then.
Do not expect the four-piece Moonlight Lullaby team effect to activate on Orphie & Magus: it requires a Support wearer. Its two-piece Energy Regen bonus is the part used in this build. Also, activate the Quick Assist during the Ultimate if you want its longer laser.
