How the kit works
Before combat, Bated Wings puts Moze in Stealth for 20 seconds. If he attacks an enemy to start combat while hidden, his DMG increases by 30% for 2 turns.
Use Fleetwinged Raid to mark an enemy as Prey and gain 9 Charge. While Prey is present, Cascading Featherblade puts Moze in the Departed state. When an ally attacks Prey, Moze deals Lightning Additional DMG and consumes 1 Charge. Every 3 Charge consumed triggers his Follow-Up ATK. At 0 Charge, Prey is dispelled and the Follow-Up count resets; the Follow-Up itself does not consume Charge.
At the displayed skill levels, the Skill deals 150% of Moze's ATK, the Additional DMG deals 30%, and the Follow-Up ATK deals 160%. Dash In, Gash Out deals 270% to one enemy and launches the Talent's Follow-Up ATK. If the target is defeated before that attack, it hits a random enemy instead.
Hurlthorn (Basic) deals Lightning DMG equal to 100% of ATK to one enemy. Moze can recover a Skill Point after his Talent's Follow-Up ATK, subject to a one-turn interval. His action advances when Departed ends and at the start of each wave. His Ultimate also counts as having launched a Follow-Up ATK when it deals damage.
Build and why
For relics, start with 4-piece Pioneer Diver of Dead Waters. It increases damage against debuffed enemies, while its 4-piece CRIT DMG bonus needs at least 2 debuffs and gets larger at 3. Its listed effects increase after the wearer inflicts a debuff. Make sure the team can supply debuffs rather than assuming every target has them.
Pair it with 2-piece Duran, Dynasty of Running Wolves. Ally Follow-Up ATKs build up to 5 Merit stacks, each giving 5% Follow-Up ATK DMG; at 5 stacks it also gives 25% CRIT DMG. The Ashblazing Grand Duke is another relic option for Follow-Up damage. Izumo Gensei and Takama Divine Realm is a planar alternative if another teammate follows The Hunt.
Use CRIT Rate or CRIT DMG on the body, SPD or ATK Percentage on the feet, Lightning DMG Boost on the sphere and ATK Percentage on the rope. For substats, look for CRIT Rate, then CRIT DMG, ATK Percentage and SPD. His attacks scale with ATK, while critical stats help his damage.
Worrisome, Blissful is the first Light Cone choice: it gives CRIT Rate and Follow-Up ATK DMG, and its Tame stacks increase allies' CRIT DMG against the target. Baptism of Pure Thought is next, with CRIT DMG and a buff after Ultimate that lets Follow-Up ATKs ignore some DEF. Cruising in the Stellar Sea is another option for CRIT Rate and an ATK increase after a defeat.
Leveling priority
Follow the game's order: level Cascading Featherblade first, then Dash In, Gash Out, Hurlthorn and Fleetwinged Raid. The Talent supplies the repeated Additional DMG and Follow-Up ATK, while the Ultimate deals damage and launches that Follow-Up.
For maximum ascension, you need 246,400 Credit, 50 Nail of the Beast Coffin, 12 Artifex's Module, 13 Artifex's Cogwheel and 12 Artifex's Gyreheart.
For all skills, you need 2,400,000 Credit, 5 Tracks of Destiny, 12 Meteoric Bullet, 54 Destined Expiration, 105 Countertemporal Shot, 12 Auspice Sliver, 28 Artifex's Module, 42 Artifex's Cogwheel and 42 Artifex's Gyreheart.
Eidolons worth it
Wrathbearer (E2) is the standout Eidolon: allies gain 40% CRIT DMG when damaging the enemy marked as Prey. It improves the team's damage against the same target Moze wants everyone to attack.
Oathkeeper (E1) is worth considering for Energy. It gives Moze 20 Energy on entering battle and 2 whenever his Talent's Additional DMG triggers. Faithbinder (E6) is another useful upgrade to consider, increasing the Talent's Follow-Up ATK DMG multiplier by 25%.
Heathprowler (E4) gives Moze 30% more DMG for 2 turns after his Ultimate. Deathchaser (E3) and Truthbender raise skill levels rather than add a new effect, so you can skip aiming for either on its own.
Teams
Feixiao is a strong partner to consider: she is a Wind Follow-Up attacker on The Hunt. She can attack Prey alongside Moze and meets the same-Path condition for Izumo Gensei and Takama Divine Realm. Dr. Ratio is another The Hunt Follow-Up option.
For the other slots, Tribbie brings a Quantum buffer with Follow-Up attacks, while Lingsha offers Fire sustain and Follow-Up attacks. Their Follow-Up ATKs can help build Merit on Duran, Dynasty of Running Wolves.
If the team needs debuffs for Pioneer Diver of Dead Waters, consider Pela or Silver Wolf. There is no required element for Moze's Talent: what matters is that allies can attack Prey and stay capable of combat.
Common mistakes
Do not spread attacks away from Prey without a reason. Allies attacking that target trigger Moze's Additional DMG and spend Charge toward his next Talent Follow-Up ATK.
Do not count the Ultimate's Follow-Up ATK as a Charge expenditure. The Talent's Follow-Up does not consume Charge. Also keep another character capable of combat: without one, Moze cannot use his Skill and Prey is dispelled.
Do not build around Pioneer Diver of Dead Waters without checking your debuff sources. If you use Swordplay, remember that its damage stacks disappear when the wearer changes targets.
