Guide
How the kit works
Start with Immersive Ordinance. A tap places a Sacramental Shower in front of Dahlia; holding the skill lets you choose its position. An opponent touching it sets off an explosion that deals AoE Hydro DMG. A nearby party member touching it is bounced high into the air. Dahlia can have only one of his Showers on the field at a time.
Use Radiant Psalter to deal AoE Hydro DMG, grant Favonian Favor to the party and summon a Shield of Sacred Favor. Its absorption scales with Dahlia's Max HP, and it absorbs Hydro DMG with 250% effectiveness.
Switch to your attacker while Favonian Favor is active. When the active party member hits opponents four times with Normal Attacks, Dahlia gains a Benison stack. If a shield breaks from damage, one stack can be consumed to summon a new one. He can gain up to four stacks per Favonian Favor duration.
After you unlock The Wind's Gentle Grace, a character affected by Favonian Favor triggering Frozen grants Dahlia two Benison stacks, once every eight seconds. Prayer of Well-Wrought Joy also gives the active character 0.5% ATK SPD per 1,000 of Dahlia's Max HP, up to 20%.
Favonius Bladework - Ritual (NA) has up to four Normal Attack strikes. Its Charged Attack consumes Stamina for two strikes, while its Plunging Attack deals damage along the way down and AoE DMG on impact.
Build and why
Use four pieces of Noblesse Oblige. Its two-piece bonus raises Burst DMG by 20%, while casting the Burst gives the whole party 20% ATK for 12 seconds. The four-piece effect does not stack with another copy.
For the sands, choose HP Percentage or Energy Recharge. Use HP Percentage on the goblet and circlet, then look for HP Percentage and Energy Recharge in substats. Max HP helps both the shield and the ATK SPD passive, which has a 20% speed bonus cap.
Favonius Sword is the first weapon to consider. Its CRIT Hits have a 60% chance to generate particles that restore 6 Energy for the character, once every 12 seconds. Consider some CRIT Rate so Dahlia can activate it.
Freedom-Sworn is another option: triggering reactions gives its wielder Sigils, and two Sigils activate Millennial Movement: Song of Resistance for nearby party members for 12 seconds. Key of Khaj-Nisut increases HP by 20%, which suits Dahlia's HP scaling; its skill-hit effect can also grant nearby teammates Elemental Mastery.
For alternatives, Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City gives a 12% Elemental DMG Bonus for the elements involved when Dahlia triggers a reaction. Tenacity of the Millelith gives 20% HP with two pieces; its four-piece ATK and Shield Strength bonuses last only three seconds after a skill hit.
Leveling priority
A sensible leveling order is Radiant Psalter first for the shield, then Immersive Ordinance for its Hydro damage. Leave Favonius Bladework - Ritual (NA) until last if Dahlia spends little time attacking on field. The ATK SPD bonus comes from a passive and scales with Max HP, not from leveling the Burst.
For full character ascension, collect 168 Calla Lily, 46 Secret Source Airflow Accumulator and 420,000 Mora. You also need Varunada Lazurite Sliver, Varunada Lazurite Fragment, Varunada Lazurite Chunk and Varunada Lazurite Gemstone, plus Firm Arrowhead, Sharp Arrowhead and Weathered Arrowhead.
For all three talents, gather Teachings of Ballad, Guide to Ballad and Philosophies of Ballad, along with more of the three Arrowhead materials. The full upgrade also takes 18 Eroded Scale-Feather, 3 Crown of Insight and 4,957,500 Mora.
Constellations worth it
Revelation of Mercy is the first upgrade to look at. After Dahlia consumes Benison to summon a new shield, the protected character gains 25% Shield Strength for 12 seconds. It improves protection after the first shield has already broken.
You Shall Go Out With Joy adds 10% ATK SPD for the active character affected by Favonian Favor. If that character falls, it also revives them and restores them to 100% HP. The revival can trigger once every 15 minutes, so do not treat it as a regular heal.
Collect of the Assembly is worth considering for its three extra seconds of Favonian Favor. Infallible Procession restores 2.5 Elemental Energy whenever Dahlia gains a Benison stack.
Windblume Offertory adds three Burst levels, while Let It Be Subtly So adds three skill levels. They are less compelling stopping points if you want a new support effect rather than talent levels.
Teams
Pick an on-field attacker who can make use of ATK SPD and land Normal Attack hits. Yoimiya, Kamisato Ayato, Wanderer and Arlecchino are teammates to consider. Dahlia gives them a shield and a speed bonus while they fight.
Common mistakes
Do not ignore Energy Recharge just to push Max HP higher. The shield and speed bonus come from the Burst and its associated effect, so Dahlia needs to be able to use it.
Do not expect a replacement shield if the existing one expires or if Dahlia has no Benison to spend. The replacement described in his kit happens when a shield breaks from damage and consumes a stack.
Do not assume the skill's Shower always damages enemies: a party member touching it gets bounced instead. Place it deliberately, especially when using the hold version.
Once the passive reaches its 20% ATK SPD cap, do not add Max HP solely for that speed bonus. Extra HP still benefits shield absorption, but it does not raise the passive's speed bonus past its cap.
