Guide
How the kit works
Start with Pressurized Floe. Its upward thrust deals Cryo DMG and starts Pers Timer for 10 seconds. During the timer, Normal Attacks release frost that deals Cryo DMG and raises the Pressure Level. That frost damage counts as Elemental Skill DMG.
Use the skill again to release Shattering Pressure and end the timer. At level 0 it deals Cryo DMG; at levels 1 to 3 it deals both Cryo and Physical DMG. At level 4 it deals Physical DMG, and the Normal Attack is also replaced by Shattering Pressure. For a Physical build, aim for level 4 before releasing it.
Shadowhunter's Ambush deals AoE Cryo DMG, resets the skill's cooldown and starts Subnautical Hunter for 10 seconds. During that mode, the skill's cooldown is 70% shorter, Normal Attacks add one extra Pressure Level, and their frost deals 200% of its original damage. Freminet also gains interruption resistance, but the mode ends if he leaves the field.
Saturation Deep Dive reduces the skill's cooldown by one second when you release below level 4. Parallel Condensers increases Shattering Pressure's damage by 40% for five seconds after Freminet triggers Shatter. Flowing Eddies (NA) has up to four consecutive strikes; its Charged Attack spins while consuming Stamina.
Build and why
For a Physical build, use four pieces of Pale Flame. Two pieces give 25% Physical DMG, and Skill hits build up its ATK bonus. At two stacks, the four-piece effect doubles the two-piece bonus. Pressurized Floe and its frost give Freminet Skill damage to work with.
Two pieces of Pale Flame and two of Bloodstained Chivalry are a practical alternative, giving 25% Physical DMG from each set. For a Cryo-oriented approach, consider four pieces of Blizzard Strayer: it gives CRIT Rate against enemies affected by Cryo, with another increase against Frozen enemies. Golden Troupe is another option for Skill damage, though its extra off-field bonus is cleared two seconds after Freminet takes the field.
Choose ATK Percentage on the sands, Physical DMG Bonus on the goblet, and CRIT Rate or CRIT DMG on the circlet. Look for CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG in substats first, followed by ATK Percentage and Energy Recharge. Energy Recharge helps you use the Burst that resets the Skill and speeds up pressure building.
Song of Broken Pines is the leading weapon choice. It increases ATK, and Normal or Charged hits build toward a party effect that increases ATK and Normal ATK SPD. Tidal Shadow is a good four-star option if a teammate heals Freminet: healing raises its wielder's ATK for eight seconds. Gest of the Mighty Wolf increases ATK SPD and builds damage stacks from Normal hits and Skill casts.
Leveling priority
A sensible order is Pressurized Floe first, Flowing Eddies (NA) second, then Shadowhunter's Ambush. The Skill contains Shattering Pressure and the frost damage, while Normal Attacks are part of the pressure-building sequence. The Burst is still useful for its reset and shorter Skill cooldown.
For maximum ascension, gather 420,000 Mora, 168 Romaritime Flower, 1 Shivada Jade Sliver, 9 Shivada Jade Fragment, 9 Shivada Jade Chunk and 6 Shivada Jade Gemstone. You also need 18 Transoceanic Pearl, 30 Transoceanic Chunk, 36 Xenochromatic Crystal and 46 Artificed Spare Clockwork Component — Coppelius.
For all three talents at maximum, gather 4,957,500 Mora, 3 Crown of Insight, 9 Teachings of Justice, 63 Guide to Justice, 114 Philosophies of Justice and 18 Worldspan Fern. The talent upgrades also need 18 Transoceanic Pearl, 66 Transoceanic Chunk and 93 Xenochromatic Crystal.
Constellations worth it
Moment of Waking and Resolve is the biggest upgrade to look for. When Freminet triggers Frozen, Shatter, Superconduct or Stellar-Conduct, he gains 12% CRIT DMG for six seconds, up to three stacks. The effect can trigger once every 0.3 seconds.
Dreams of the Foamy Deep is worth considering for its 15% CRIT Rate on Pressurized Floe: Shattering Pressure. Penguins and the Land of Plenty restores two Energy when he releases Shattering Pressure, or three at level 4, making it useful if you want help with Burst uptime.
You can play without the constellations. C3 and C5 can be skipped if you do not need their extra talent levels; they raise the Normal Attack and Skill levels respectively. C4 is another optional upgrade that grants ATK after Freminet triggers the listed reactions.
Common mistakes
Do not switch Freminet out immediately after Shadowhunter's Ambush. Leaving the field cancels Subnautical Hunter, including its shorter Skill cooldown and faster pressure gain.
Do not release Pressurized Floe: Shattering Pressure early by accident when you want the level 4 Physical hit. Lower levels are still usable and benefit from Saturation Deep Dive's cooldown reduction, but they deal a different mix of damage.
Do not assume a Shatter from another teammate activates Parallel Condensers for Freminet. He needs to trigger it himself. Also check your weapon's condition: Tidal Shadow needs healing for its ATK effect, while Blizzard Strayer's extra CRIT Rate depends on the target's status.
