Main Wind damage dealer

Anaxa from Honkai: Star Rail with a Kaption Polish subtitle
How Kaption shows Anaxa in Polish: "Twoja logika nie ma sensu! Wiem, że twój syn radzi sobie całkiem dobrze w Okhema. Co masz na myśli, mówiąc „nie masz gdzie pójść”?"

At a glance

Anaxa is a Wind damage dealer on the Erudition path. He hits groups with his Skill and Ultimate, and his Skill gains damage for every attackable enemy on the field. His damage scales with ATK.

His hits implant Weaknesses. Once an enemy has at least five different Weakness Types, Anaxa deals more damage to it and can launch an extra Skill without spending a Skill Point. His Ultimate gives every enemy all seven Weakness Types until the start of their turn.

He can work as the only Erudition character or alongside a second one. The choice changes the bonus from his passive.

After hitting enemy targets, inflicts 1 random Weakness. Enemies whose Weaknesses reach 5 get inflicted with "Qualitative Disclosure." Anaxa deals increased DMG to targets in the "Qualitative Disclosure" state. After Anaxa uses Basic ATK or Skill on them, unleashes 1 additional instance of Skill without consumption.

In addition, after using Basic ATK or Skill on them, unleashes 1 additional instance of Skill on the targets. If the target has been defeated before the additional Skill is used, it will be cast on one random enemy instead.

Guide

How the kit works

Before combat, use Prism of the Pupil to make nearby enemies flee for 10 seconds. If an ally attacks a Terrified enemy to enter combat, the fight counts as entering through a Weakness. Anaxa then applies a Weakness matching the attacker's type to every enemy for three turns.

In battle, use Fractal, Exiles Fallacy on your chosen target. It deals Wind DMG equal to 70% of ATK, then deals four more instances of 70% damage to random enemies, prioritizing those not yet hit by that Skill. Its damage increases by 20% for each attackable enemy on the field.

Tetrad Wisdom Reigns Thrice implants a random Weakness with each hit, prioritizing types the target lacks. These Weaknesses last three turns. At five different Weakness Types, an enemy gains Qualitative Disclosure: Anaxa deals 30% more damage to it, and a Basic ATK or Skill targeting it triggers an extra Skill. That extra Skill cannot trigger another. If the target is defeated first, it hits a random enemy instead.

Use Sprouting Life Sculpts Earth to inflict Sublimation on all enemies, then deal Wind DMG equal to 160% of ATK to all of them. Sublimation gives them all seven Weakness Types until the start of their turn. Targets without Control RES cannot act while in that state.

Pain, Brews Truth deals Wind DMG equal to 100% of ATK to one enemy. Roaming Signifier gives Anaxa 10 extra Energy when he uses it, or 30 Energy at the start of his turn if no enemy has Qualitative Disclosure. Qualitative Shift makes his damage ignore 4% DEF per different Weakness Type on the target, up to seven.

Build and why

Genius of Brilliant Stars is a strong four-piece choice. It ignores 10% DEF, or 20% against an enemy with Quantum Weakness. Anaxa's Ultimate supplies that Weakness, though the set's two-piece Quantum DMG bonus does not boost his Wind damage.

As Navigator Isee Sees It is another option: it gives ATK and stacks Skill and Ultimate damage when Anaxa enters combat or uses Skill. A stack is removed at the start of his turn or after his Ultimate. Eagle of Twilight Line gives Wind DMG and advances his action by 25% after his Ultimate. Scholar Lost in Erudition is an option for CRIT Rate and Skill and Ultimate damage.

For planar ornaments, use Rutilant Arena if you can reach 70% CRIT Rate for its Basic ATK and Skill damage bonus. Izumo Gensei and Takama Divine Realm gives ATK and gains a CRIT Rate bonus when a teammate follows Erudition.

Choose CRIT Rate or CRIT DMG on the body, SPD or ATK Percentage on the feet, Wind DMG Boost or ATK Percentage on the sphere, and Energy Regeneration Rate or ATK Percentage on the rope. For substats, prioritize CRIT Rate, CRIT DMG, ATK Percentage, then SPD.

Life Should Be Cast to Flames is the first Light Cone choice. It gives Energy, boosts damage against enemies with a Weakness implanted by Anaxa and reduces their DEF. Into the Unreachable Veil gives CRIT Rate and boosts Skill and Ultimate damage after his Ultimate. The Great Cosmic Enterprise is a four-star option that adds damage for each different Weakness Type on the target.

Leveling priority

Follow the game's order: Fractal, Exiles Fallacy first, then Sprouting Life Sculpts Earth, Pain, Brews Truth, and Tetrad Wisdom Reigns Thrice. Skill is the main attack and also appears as the Talent's extra attack. Ultimate hits every enemy and applies Sublimation before dealing damage.

Basic comes before Talent in the game's order. It gives you a single-target attack that can trigger the extra Skill against a target with Qualitative Disclosure.

For maximum ascension, gather 308,000 Credit, 65 A Glass of the Besotted Era and 15 each of Ethereal Omen, Echoing Wail and Eternal Lament. Maxing all skills takes 3,000,000 Credit, 8 Tracks of Destiny, 18 Rough Sketch, 69 Dynamic Outlining, 139 Exquisite Colored Draft, 12 Lost Echo of the Shared Wish, 41 Ethereal Omen, 56 Echoing Wail and 58 Eternal Lament.

Eidolons worth it

Everything Is in Everything is a large damage upgrade to consider: Anaxa deals 130% of his original damage and gains both Imperative Hiatus effects regardless of the number of Erudition characters.

Soul, True to History is another useful stopping point to consider. Enemies entering the field receive one instance of the Talent's Weakness implant and have their All-Type RES reduced by 20%. It helps Anaxa start building Weaknesses on new targets.

Magician, Isolated by Stars recovers one Skill Point after his first Skill use and makes Skill hits reduce enemy DEF by 16% for two turns. It is a useful earlier upgrade if you want more DEF reduction.

Blaze, Plunged to Canyon gives ATK when Anaxa uses Skill and can stack twice. Pupil, Etched into Cosmos and Embryo, Set Beyond Vortex raise skill levels. You can skip these as goals in their own right if the earlier effects are what you want.

Teams

The Herta is a natural Erudition partner. With at least two Erudition characters, Imperative Hiatus increases all allies' damage by 50%; with Anaxa as the only Erudition character, it instead gives him 140% CRIT DMG. Jade is another Erudition teammate to consider.

For support, Tribbie or Cerydra can fill a buffer role. Pela is an option for a debuffer, while Gallagher or Dan Heng • Permansor Terrae can fill a sustain slot. Pick the remaining roles around whether you want a second Erudition character.

Anaxa gives the team access to implanted Weaknesses. His Technique can apply the opening attacker's type to every enemy, so choosing who starts the fight lets you choose that initial type. His Ultimate temporarily supplies all seven types, though its control effect does not stop targets with Control RES.

Common mistakes

Do not assume Sublimation lasts indefinitely. Its Weaknesses last until the start of the target's turn, and its action lock applies only to targets without Control RES. Watch for the state ending before planning around those Weaknesses.

Do not build Rutilant Arena for its Basic ATK and Skill bonus without checking the 70% CRIT Rate requirement. With Genius of Brilliant Stars, remember that the extra DEF ignore requires Quantum Weakness and the two-piece bonus is Quantum DMG, not Wind DMG.

Do not treat the two Imperative Hiatus team bonuses as active together before E6. Check the number of Erudition characters when choosing Anaxa's teammates.
