How the kit works
Bring Caesar in with Defensive Assist: Aegis Shield when an attack is coming. It parries the attack and deals Daze. You can follow it with Assist Follow-Up: Aiding Blade, then trigger a Retaliation.
Use EX Special Attack: Parry Counter (Special) when you have Energy. It strikes and grants the squad Radiant Aegis through Core Passive: Barrier of Resilience. The shield lasts 60 seconds and has a value of 1,400% of Caesar's base Impact plus 1,400. Its bearer gains 1,000 ATK, which remains for five seconds after the shield expires.
If Parry Counter meets an attack at the start, or its shield strike interrupts an enemy, it triggers Perfect Block. You can then use EX Special Attack: Overpowered Shield Bash (Special) without spending Energy. Parry Counter also leaves Caesar guarding: damage taken is reduced by 40%, and a blocked attack lets you trigger Retaliation.
With Additional Ability: Battle Spirit active, Perfect Block, Retaliation, Defensive Assist or Basic Attack: Dead End applies a 30-second debuff within 7m. Affected enemies take 25% more damage from the squad. Dead End consumes one Assist Point.
Build and why
For a team-focused setup, start with four pieces of Proto Punk. Its two-piece bonus increases Shield effect by 15%, and its four-piece bonus gives the squad 15% more damage for 10 seconds after a Defensive Assist or Evasive Assist.
Astral Voice is an alternative when your team regularly brings its damage dealer onto the field with Quick Assist. Its four-piece bonus grants stacks that increase the damage of the character entering that way. Two pieces of Shockstar Disco are useful alongside a four-piece set for the 6% Impact bonus.
The in-game build instead recommends four pieces of Bunny in Wonderland and two of Proto Punk. Bunny's four-piece effect stacks squad damage when Caesar uses an EX Special Attack or a squad member triggers a Defensive Assist or Evasive Assist. Proto Punk adds its Shield effect bonus.
For main stats, the in-game build lists CRIT Rate on disc 4, Physical DMG Bonus or Percent ATK on disc 5, and Impact on disc 6. It lists Percent ATK, CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG as substats, in that order. These offensive stats help Caesar's own damage; the shield formula specifically uses her base Impact.
Tusks of Fury is the first weapon choice. It increases the Shield value Caesar provides by 30% and, after a squad member triggers Interrupt or Perfect Dodge, gives the squad more damage and Daze for 20 seconds. Original Transmorpher is an alternative that raises Impact after Caesar is attacked. Spring Embrace offers Energy Generation Rate after she is attacked and can transfer that buff when she switches out.
Leveling priority
Follow the in-game order: Core Passive: Barrier of Resilience first, then the Special Attack category represented by Special Attack: Shockwave Shield Bash. The passive improves the shield and its support, while Special Attack covers Caesar's parries and shield application.
Next level Assist, represented by Quick Assist: Lane Change, then Chain Attack: Road Rage Slam, Basic Attack: Rampaging Slash and Dodge: Adrift. Assists and Chain Attacks fit the time Caesar spends helping the squad.
Maximum ascension takes 800,000 Denny, 4 Basic Defense Certification Seal, 32 Advanced Defense Certification Seal and 30 Defender Certification Seal. All skills take 2,905,000 Denny, 25 Basic Physical Chip, 75 Advanced Physical Chip, 250 Specialized Physical Chip, 5 Hamster Cage Pass, 9 Scarlet Engine and 60 Higher Dimensional Data: Stealth Phantom.
Mindscapes worth it
For support, consider Legacy of the Far Lands first. While Radiant Aegis is active, it raises Caesar's Energy Generation Rate by 10% and makes the shield bearer's ATK boost 150% of its original value.
Aries the Battering-Ram is worth considering for Assist Point management: Chain Attack or Ultimate grants three points, and below 20 Energy Caesar can spend one point on Overpowered Shield Bash (Special) once every five seconds. If you mainly want team support, you can leave the skill-level increases at M3 and M5 for later; M6 focuses on Caesar's own damage.
Teams
Pair Caesar with a character who spends time dealing damage on-field. The shield's ATK and Anti-Interrupt go to its current bearer, so switch to that damage dealer after applying it. A Stun teammate is another option if you want more help building Daze.
Common mistakes
Do not leave the squad without Radiant Aegis after its 60 seconds run out. Refresh it with an eligible attack before relying on its protection or ATK boost. The ATK boost lasts only five seconds after the shield expires.
Do not spend Energy on the follow-up after a successful Perfect Block with Parry Counter (Special): Overpowered Shield Bash (Special) is free in that situation. The follow-up cannot trigger another Perfect Block when activated through Perfect Block or Retaliation.
Do not forget the team condition for Battle Spirit or the Assist Point cost of Dead End (Basic). Also watch the trigger on your four-piece set: Proto Punk needs an Assist, while Astral Voice rewards a character entering with Quick Assist.
