Guide
How the kit works
Start with one of the first three hits of Basic Attack: Load Up and Roll Out, a Dash Attack or a Dodge Counter. Using Special Attack: Tire Spin after one of these lets Piper enter the spin quickly at an increased charge level. Hold it to keep spinning and raise its charge, then release for the invulnerable downward smash from Special Attack: One Trillion Tons.
With enough Energy, keep holding at maximum charge to enter EX Special Attack: Engine Spin (Special). Its hits generate Power through Core Passive: Power Charge. The spin consumes Energy for up to 3 seconds, then ends with EX Special Attack: Really Heavy (Special). You can release early, or the smash triggers automatically at the duration limit or when Energy drops to 20. Piper is invulnerable during the smash.
Power lasts 12 seconds, with new triggers refreshing its duration. Each stack gives 4% Physical Anomaly Buildup Rate, up to 20 stacks normally. Ultimate: Hold~ On~ Tight~ also builds Power on hit. When the teammate condition for Additional Ability: Synced Acceleration is met, 20 Power gives the squad 18% more DMG.
Dodge: Handbrake Drift and Dodge Counter: Power Drift give Piper invulnerability during their animations. Defensive Assist: Emergency Brake parries and deals Daze; follow it with Assist Follow-Up: Overtaking Maneuver when you want Piper back on the field.
Build and why
Start with four pieces of Fanged Metal. Its two-piece bonus gives 10% Physical DMG, and its four-piece effect gives Piper 35% more DMG against a target for 12 seconds after a squad member inflicts Assault on it. Pair it with two pieces of Freedom Blues for 30 Anomaly Proficiency.
Four pieces of Phaethon's Melody are another option: its two-piece bonus gives 8% Anomaly Mastery, and a squad member's EX Special Attack gives Piper 45 Anomaly Proficiency for 8 seconds. Its Ether DMG bonus does not help her Physical attacks. Four pieces of Freedom Blues are also worth considering: an EX Special Attack hit reduces the target's Physical Anomaly Buildup RES by 20% for 8 seconds. Pair either four-piece set with two pieces of Fanged Metal.
Use Anomaly Proficiency on disc 4, Percent ATK or Physical DMG Bonus on disc 5, and Anomaly Mastery on disc 6. For substats, look for Percent ATK first and Anomaly Proficiency second.
Practiced Perfection is the first weapon choice. It gives 60 Anomaly Mastery and starts combat with two stacks of its Physical DMG effect. Sharpened Stinger comes next: a Perfect Dodge grants its maximum stacks, increasing Physical DMG and Anomaly Buildup Rate. Weeping Gemini gains Anomaly Proficiency stacks when the squad inflicts an Attribute Anomaly. Roaring Ride is another option, with effects that can trigger from EX Special Attack hits.
Leveling priority
Follow the game's order: Core Passive: Power Charge first, then the Special Attack group, the Chain Attack group, Basic Attack, Assist and Dodge. Power Charge supports the Anomaly plan, while Special Attack covers the spin Piper uses to build Power. The Chain Attack group includes her Ultimate.
To ascend Piper to the maximum level, you need 800,000 Denny, 4 Basic Anomaly Certification Seal, 32 Advanced Anomaly Certification Seal and 30 Controller Certification Seal.
For all skills at maximum level, you need 2,905,000 Denny, 25 Basic Physical Chip, 75 Advanced Physical Chip, 250 Specialized Physical Chip, 5 Hamster Cage Pass, 9 Finale Dance Shoes and 60 Higher Dimensional Data: Crimson Awe.
Mindscapes worth it
Leisure Moment is a good upgrade to prioritize. Spinning slashes from Special Attack: Tire Spin, EX Special Attack: Engine Spin (Special) or the Ultimate have a 50% chance to grant an extra Power stack. It also raises the limit from 20 to 30, allowing more Physical Anomaly Buildup Rate.
Mild Excitement is worth considering for a longer spin: it extends the EX spin's duration limit by 2 seconds and Power's duration by 4 seconds. You still need enough Energy to keep spinning. Refined Techniques restores 20 Energy when a squad member inflicts an Attribute Anomaly, once every 30 seconds.
Motivation (M2) gives Piper more movement speed during her spins and increases the Physical DMG of her downward smashes. Truck Expert and Personal Hobbies add two levels to several skill groups. You can leave those for later if you prefer the extra stacks, Energy or spin duration from the other upgrades.
Teams
To activate Additional Ability: Synced Acceleration, bring another Anomaly character or someone who shares Piper's Attribute or Faction. At 20 Power, Piper then gives all squad members 18% more DMG. The buff depends on her keeping enough stacks, so watch their duration when switching away.
Common mistakes
Do not treat the spin as invulnerability. Both the regular and EX spins reduce incoming DMG by 40% and increase Anti-Interrupt, but Piper can still be hit. The downward smash gives her invulnerability, so release when you need to end the spin.
Do not hold the EX spin without watching Energy or let Power expire unnoticed. The EX ends automatically when Energy drops to 20, and Power normally lasts 12 seconds. Refresh it with EX spin or Ultimate hits when you need the squad DMG bonus.
Do not choose disc stats solely for direct Physical damage. Anomaly Proficiency and Anomaly Mastery support Piper's Anomaly build, while Percent ATK is the first substat to look for in the listed build.
