How the kit works
Before a fight, Windchaser puts Yukong into Sprint mode for 20 seconds and raises her movement speed by 35%. Attack an enemy while it is active to enter combat with two stacks of Roaring Bowstrings.
During combat, Emboldening Salvo gives Yukong two stacks, the maximum. At the listed skill values, Roaring Bowstrings raises all allies’ ATK by 80%. One stack disappears at the end of each ally’s turn, including Yukong’s, except on the turn when she gains the stacks by using her Skill. Try to place your damage dealer immediately after Yukong in the turn order.
Use Diving Kestrel while Roaring Bowstrings is active to give all allies 28% CRIT Rate and 65% CRIT DMG at the listed values. It also deals Imaginary DMG equal to 380% of Yukong’s ATK to one enemy. Check the stacks before using it: the damage does not require them, but the CRIT buffs do.
Arrowslinger (Basic) deals Imaginary DMG equal to 100% of ATK. When Seven Layers, One Arrow is ready, it adds Imaginary DMG equal to 80% of ATK and increases that attack’s Toughness Reduction by 100%; the effect can trigger again after one turn. Bowmaster gives allies 12% more Imaginary DMG while Yukong is on the field. Majestas restores 2 extra Energy to Yukong when an ally acts while Roaring Bowstrings is active, and Archerion can resist one debuff application before its two-turn reset.
Build and why
For relics, start with four pieces of Wastelander of Banditry Desert if you want more damage from Yukong. Two pieces give 10% Imaginary DMG; four give her 10% CRIT Rate when damaging debuffed enemies and 20% CRIT DMG when damaging Imprisoned enemies. Those conditional bonuses affect Yukong, not the whole team.
For a support-oriented planar set, Broken Keel gives 10% Effect RES and, at 30% Effect RES or more, gives all allies 10% CRIT DMG. Two pieces of Messenger Traversing Hackerspace are another option for 6% SPD. Do not plan around its four-piece effect: that requires an Ultimate used on an ally, while Yukong targets an enemy.
Four pieces of Musketeer of Wild Wheat offer ATK, SPD and Basic ATK DMG. For planar alternatives, Fleet of the Ageless gives the team 8% ATK at 120 SPD, while Penacony, Land of the Dreams gives Energy Regeneration Rate and raises the DMG of other Imaginary allies.
Use CRIT Rate on the body, SPD on the feet and Imaginary DMG Boost on the sphere. Choose Energy Regeneration Rate or ATK Percentage on the rope. For substats, the game recommends SPD first, then ATK Percentage, CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG. SPD helps you arrange turns around the buff; the offensive stats improve Yukong’s own damage.
Memories of the Past is the first Light Cone choice: it gives Break Effect and restores 4 Energy when the wearer attacks, once per turn. Past Self in Mirror gives team DMG after the Ultimate and restores Energy at the start of each wave; its Skill Point recovery requires at least 150% Break Effect. But the Battle Isn’t Over gives Energy Regeneration Rate and buffs the next ally after Yukong uses her Skill. Its Skill Point effect requires an Ultimate used on an ally, so Yukong cannot use that part. Past and Future is another option for buffing the next ally after her Skill.
Leveling priority
Follow the game’s order: Emboldening Salvo first for the team ATK buff, then Diving Kestrel for its CRIT buffs and damage. Level Arrowslinger next and Seven Layers, One Arrow last for Yukong’s own attacks.
For maximum ascension, you need 246,400 Credit, 50 Golden Crown of the Past Shadow, 12 Artifex's Module, 13 Artifex's Cogwheel and 12 Artifex's Gyreheart.
To level all skills, the listed total is 2,400,000 Credit, 5 Tracks of Destiny, 12 Harmonic Tune, 54 Ancestral Hymn, 105 Stellaris Symphony, 12 Destroyer's Final Road, 28 Artifex's Module, 42 Artifex's Cogwheel and 42 Artifex's Gyreheart. These skill materials are separate from the ascension costs.
Eidolons worth it
Bowstring Thunderclap is a good target for easier stack management: Yukong immediately gains one Roaring Bowstrings stack when she uses her Ultimate. Still check whether the buff is active when you use it, since that is the stated condition for the CRIT bonuses.
Skyward Command is worth considering for Energy. When an ally reaches their Energy limit, Yukong gains 5 Energy; each ally can trigger it once until Yukong uses her Ultimate and resets the counts. Aerial Marshal gives the whole team 10% SPD for two turns at the start of battle. Account for that opening SPD when arranging turn order.
Zephyrean Echoes increases Yukong’s own damage by 30% while Roaring Bowstrings is active, so it is less appealing if you only want team support. Torrential Fusillade raises Skill and Basic levels, while August Deadshot raises Ultimate and Talent levels. You do not need to pursue those levels separately for a support build, although they sit on the way to E6.
Teams
Dan Heng • Imbibitor Lunae is a strong teammate to place after Yukong: he can use her ATK and CRIT buffs, and the Imaginary DMG bonus also applies to him. Welt is another Imaginary option and can fill a debuffer slot.
Luocha can cover sustain in an Imaginary team. For example, use Yukong with Dan Heng • Imbibitor Lunae, Welt and Luocha, then arrange the turns so the damage dealer gets a Roaring Bowstrings turn. Penacony, Land of the Dreams is worth considering in that team because it boosts the DMG of Yukong’s other Imaginary allies.
The buffs are not restricted to Imaginary teams. Pela can fill a debuffer slot, while Natasha can provide sustain in a mixed team. Whichever allies you choose, keep an eye on which two turns consume the stacks.
Common mistakes
Do not use Yukong’s Ultimate without checking Roaring Bowstrings if you need the CRIT buffs. The attack still deals damage without an active stack, which can make the missing team bonuses easy to overlook.
Do not assume both stacks will reach your damage dealer. Other allies’ turns consume them too, and the opening SPD from E1 can change the order. Check the turn bar and adjust SPD rather than treating Yukong’s own SPD as a goal in isolation.
Do not build around set or Light Cone effects that require an Ultimate on an ally. Yukong’s Ultimate targets an enemy. Likewise, Broken Keel needs 30% Effect RES for its team CRIT DMG bonus, and Fleet of the Ageless needs 120 SPD for its team ATK bonus.
