Guide
How the kit works
Start by pressing Claw and Thunder against an opponent. It deals Electro damage and gives Razor an Electro Sigil, increasing his Energy Recharge. He can have up to three Sigils, and gaining another refreshes their duration. Holding the Skill instead deals Electro damage in an area and converts all his Sigils into Energy.
Use Lightning Fang when it is ready. It deals Electro damage nearby and also converts Razor's Sigils into Energy. It resets the Skill's cooldown, so you can press the Skill again after the Burst. The Skill's cooldown is also reduced by 18% by a passive.
Follow with Steel Fang (NA). Its Normal Attack has up to four strikes, and the wolf attacks alongside those strikes with Electro damage. The wolf also raises Razor's ATK SPD and Electro RES, makes him immune to Electro-Charged damage, and prevents Charged Attacks. Its effects end if Razor leaves the field; he gets up to 10 Energy back depending on the remaining duration.
Below 50% Energy, Razor gains 30% Energy Recharge. After you complete Witch's Homework: Of the Little Wolf Pack, his wolf deals extra damage equal to 70% of his ATK. With at least two Hexerei characters in the party, overflowing Electro Sigils while the wolf is active also calls down an area Electro strike for 150% of ATK and restores 7 Energy, once every 1 second.
Build and why
For a Physical build, Pale Flame is first in the KeqingMains set list. Its two-piece bonus gives 25% Physical DMG; its four-piece effect gains ATK stacks when the Skill hits and doubles the two-piece bonus at two stacks. A Day Carved From Rising Winds leads the Game8 list: it gives ATK after a hit, plus CRIT Rate if Razor has completed Witch's Homework.
Thundering Fury leads ManaBuy's list and is an option for a reaction-focused team. Its four-piece effect boosts several Electro reactions and can reduce Skill cooldown. For a simpler Normal Attack build, four pieces of Gladiator's Finale give a Claymore user 35% more Normal Attack DMG. Two pieces each of Bloodstained Chivalry and Pale Flame are another Physical DMG option.
Use ATK Percentage on the sands, Physical DMG Bonus on the goblet, and CRIT Rate or CRIT DMG on the circlet. For substats, look for CRIT Rate, CRIT DMG, ATK Percentage and then Energy Recharge. The Physical bonus supports Razor's own attacks, while ATK also contributes to the wolf's added damage.
Beacon of the Reed Sea leads the KeqingMains weapon list: hitting with the Skill grants ATK, with another ATK effect after taking damage. A Thousand Blazing Suns leads Game8's list and grants CRIT DMG and ATK after a Skill or Burst. Wolf's Gravestone gives ATK and can raise the party's ATK against a low-HP opponent. Serpent Spine and Prototype Archaic are 4-star options; Gest of the Mighty Wolf is another option that raises ATK SPD and rewards Normal Attack hits.
Leveling priority
A good leveling order is Steel Fang (NA), Lightning Fang, then Claw and Thunder. Razor attacks frequently during his Burst, so improving his Normal Attack is a useful starting point. Level the Burst next for the wolf, then the Skill for its Electro damage.
For ascension, gather Mora, Wolfhook, Lightning Prism, Damaged Mask, Stained Mask and Ominous Mask. You also need Vajrada Amethyst Sliver, Vajrada Amethyst Fragment, Vajrada Amethyst Chunk and Vajrada Amethyst Gemstone.
Talent upgrades use Mora, the three Mask materials, Teachings of Resistance, Guide to Resistance and Philosophies of Resistance. You also need Dvalin's Claw and Crown of Insight for the later upgrades.
Constellations worth it
Bite (C4) is the standout upgrade in the available rankings. The press version of Razor's Skill reduces the DEF of opponents hit by 15% for 7 seconds, giving his attacks a better target.
Wolf's Instinct is worth considering: picking up an Elemental Orb or Particle increases Razor's damage by 10% for 8 seconds. Lupus Fulguris adds a lightning strike to a Normal Attack every 10 seconds. Outside his Burst, that strike also grants a Sigil when it hits an opponent.
Suppression (C2) only adds CRIT Rate against opponents below 30% HP, so it is less useful across a whole fight. Sharpened Claws raises the Skill level by 3; you can leave it as a lower priority if your focus is Normal Attack damage.
Common mistakes
Do not switch Razor out immediately after activating his Burst: the wolf's effects end when he leaves. Also, do not plan a Charged Attack sequence during the Burst, because it disables Charged Attacks.
Watch your Sigils. Holding the Skill converts them into Energy, but removes their Energy Recharge benefit. The Burst converts them too, so you can use it when ready and build Sigils again with the reset Skill. In a Hexerei team, keep pressing the Skill while the wolf is active to make use of Sigil overflow.
